Helpful Information for Young Entrepreneurs from Educator Labs

The Wall Street Journal recently published a concerning article about limited youth engagement with entrepreneurship (see link below).  Since 2010, the percent of people under the age of 30 who owned stakes in private companies has been cut in half, down to a mere 3.6%.

Why? Part of the problem is the overall poor financial situation in the US after the 2008-09 recession, and the resulting difficulties getting work and business experience.

But there is a greater issue: the inadequacy of the current school system in preparing youth to tinker and think in competitive ways. Entrepreneurship cannot be taught, but it can be cultivated through the right environments; unfortunately, most schools are not cutting it.

Together, we can make all the difference in crafting tomorrow’s successful business leaders.
